Diesel Technician – $35–$40/hr – No Weekends

Location: Acworth, GA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Compensation: $35 – $40/hr flat rate (depending on experience)

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring an experienced Diesel Technician for a well-established, high-volume shop in Acworth, GA. This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role — no weekends — with strong hourly pay, benefits, and the opportunity to work on a wide variety of diesel platforms. If you’re skilled with diagnostic work, not just part-swapping, this shop will give you the autonomy and support to thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on light- and medium-duty diesel trucks (Duramax, Cummins, Powerstroke)

  • Work on commercial fleet vehicles including Isuzu NPRs and school buses (6.7L & 8.3L Cummins)

  • Diagnose and repair head gaskets, turbos, fuel systems, EGR coolers, and drivability issues

  • Complete transmission R&R, differential service, AC, and water pump repairs

  • Solve electrical and diagnostic issues beyond just reading codes

  • Operate independently or as part of a team to ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately

  • Maintain a clean, professional, and safe working environment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a diesel technician

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities

  • Experience with scan tools and diagnostic software (bring your own scanner = bonus)

  • Confident working independently on complex repairs

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

  • ASE certifications a plus, but not required
