Automotive Service Advisor

Location: Laurel, MD
Schedule: Monday to Saturday (rotating 5-day schedule, 8 AM – 6 PM)
Compensation: $50,000 base + $50K+ annual commission potential
Experience Required: 3+ Years

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring an experienced Automotive Service Advisor for a high-traffic, full-service shop in Laurel, MD. This shop handles a strong mix of Domestic, European, and Asian vehicles, with a steady flow of customers and a reliable team of techs to back you up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and build trust by understanding their needs clearly

  • Write accurate repair orders and generate clear, honest estimates

  • Manage the full service cycle — from appointment scheduling to final vehicle delivery

  • Coordinate with technicians and parts staff to ensure smooth workflow

  • Track parts ETA and follow up on outstanding repairs

  • Recommend and confidently sell additional services where appropriate

  • Keep service operations organized and detail-oriented

  • Maintain a calm, professional demeanor in a busy environment

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Service Advisor or similar role in an automotive setting

  • Excellent sales, communication, and multitasking skills

  • Strong organizational habits and attention to detail

  • Friendly, professional presence with a customer-first mindset

  • Experience using RO Writer or similar shop software is a plus

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $50,000 annually

  • Bonus Potential: Up to $50K+ annually based on performance
