Automotive Service Advisor

Location: Metro Detroit Area
Schedule: Full-Time | In-Person | Six Days Per Week (Saturdays Required)
Compensation:

  • $70,000 base salary

  • Earning potential up to $137,000/year

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Automotive Service Advisor to manage the front of house in a busy, independent automotive repair shop. This role is ideal for advisors who thrive in a fast-paced environment, understand shop workflow, and know how to build trust with customers through clear communication and accurate estimates.

This is not an entry-level position. We are specifically seeking advisors with experience in small, independent repair shops. Dealership experience alone typically does not translate well due to the differences in pace, workflow, and customer relationships.

While training and support are provided, we are not looking to start from scratch.

Position Details

  • Full-time, in-person role

  • Six-day work week

  • Saturdays are required

  • You will work alongside another advisor, coordinating rotating days off for scheduling flexibility

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and accurately intake vehicle concerns

  • Build, present, and close repair estimates

  • Communicate clearly with technicians and customers

  • Manage shop workflow to maintain efficiency and productivity

  • Coordinate parts ordering and job approvals

  • Keep customers informed throughout the repair process

  • Maintain a clean, professional front office

What We’re Looking For

  • 2–3+ years of Service Advisor experience in an independent auto repair shop

  • Strong sales skills with confidence in quoting and closing work

  • Solid understanding of general automotive repairs and parts pricing

  • Experience managing technician workflow

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to create accurate estimates and stay organized

  • Familiarity with modern shop management software

  • Dependable, professional, and confident in a leadership role

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
