Automotive Shop / Service Manager

Location: Bronx, NY
Schedule: Full-time, 6 days/week (alternating Saturdays after ramp-up)
Base Salary: $60,000–$70,000 + Bonuses
Total Compensation Potential: Up to $120,000 annually

Position Summary

Promotive is seeking a seasoned Automotive Service Advisor / Manager to help lead operations at a well-established, high-traffic repair shop in Bronx, NY. This shop has been trusted by the local community for over 50 years, and we’re looking for someone who can step in, lead the team, and keep things running smoothly — all while delivering excellent customer service and boosting profitability.

If you’re a hands-on, high-energy leader with a background in service writing, team motivation, and occasionally picking up a wrench — this is your role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead a team of technicians in a fast-paced, full-service automotive shop

  • Write accurate service tickets, repair orders, and estimates

  • Communicate clearly with customers about services and timelines

  • Coach and develop the technician team to ensure top-tier performance and morale

  • Step in on light repairs or diagnostics when needed to keep workflow moving

  • Maintain shop organization, scheduling, and parts coordination

  • Uphold high standards for customer satisfaction, quality control, and follow-up

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in automotive service advising and shop management

  • Proven leadership experience in a high-volume repair environment

  • Strong skills in writing service estimates and managing repair orders

  • Ability to “turn a wrench” when needed — light mechanical experience preferred

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong organizational and multitasking ability

  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $60,000–$70,000 (Depending on Experience)

  • Bonus structure with earning potential up to $120,000
