Location: St. James, NY
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Pay Structure: Hybrid – Guarantee with Production Incentives
Earning Potential: $100K+ annually

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring a skilled A / Diagnostic Expert Level or strong B+ Automotive Technician for a well-established independent shop in St. James, NY.
This is a full-time, Monday–Friday role with weekly pay, premium benefits, and hybrid pay structure (flat rate + guaranteed base).
You’ll step into a professional environment backed by 50+ years of trust in the community, working alongside a supportive team in a busy, tech-forward shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate diagnostics and repairs on domestic, Asian, and European vehicles

  • Complete brake, suspension, engine, and drivability work with minimal supervision

  • Use advanced scan tools (Snap-On, Autel, TOPDON) and follow digital inspection processes (AutoVitals)

  • Ensure first-time fix accuracy and minimize comebacks

  • Collaborate with teammates to maintain productivity and uphold shop quality standards

  • Maintain clean workspaces and adhere to safety protocols

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience for A-Level techs or 3+ years for strong B-Level techs

  • Strong diagnostic capabilities with a “no guesswork” mindset

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage jobs independently

  • ASE certifications preferred but not required

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Background check and drug screen required

  • Digital Vehicle Inspection Experience
