Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician – $38–$45/hr – No Weekends

Location: South Windsor, CT
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Compensation: $38 – $45/hr DOE + Weekly Bonuses
Experience Level: 4+ Years Professional Diesel Experience Required

Position Summary

Cusson Automotive, a trusted family-owned diesel and fleet repair facility, is hiring a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician in South Windsor, CT. Established in 1993, Cusson is a certified NAPA AutoCare Center and Cummins dealer known for expert workmanship, modern diagnostic capabilities, and a reputation built on professionalism and trust.

This is a Monday–Friday position — no weekends — offering $38–$45/hr, weekly performance bonuses, paid Cummins training, and a strong team atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks, RVs, medium-duty, and fleet vehicles

  • Repair hydraulic, emission, fuel, and transmission systems (including Allison transmissions)

  • Conduct DOT inspections for heavy-duty vehicles

  • Perform alignments on trucks and motorhomes using Hunter equipment

  • Use advanced diagnostic software and shop management tools to track productivity

  • Stay current with Cummins and alternative fuel training programs

  • Collaborate with a supportive, family-style team focused on quality and safety

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience as a diesel or heavy-duty technician

  • Strong diagnostics and electrical repair skills; emission system knowledge required

  • Experience working on a range of makes including Peterbilt, International, Mack, Caterpillar, and Detroit

  • Cummins certifications or equivalent diesel training preferred

  • Capable of reflashing computers and using advanced scan tools

  • Valid driver’s license required; willingness to obtain Class B or CDL if not already held

Compensation & Benefits

  • $38 – $45 per hour, based on experience and certifications
