About the Role
Fowler Diesel Service is seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Mobile Towing & Recovery Technician to operate our 30-ton wrecker and provide essential 24/7 breakdown support. You’ll be the first responder to heavy-duty vehicle breakdowns, performing roadside mechanical work and safe vehicle transport while supporting shop operations.
This is not an entry-level role — we need someone who can hit the ground running and take ownership of this critical role.
What You’ll Do
- Operate a 30-ton wrecker for heavy-duty vehicle recovery (non-accident)
- Respond to 24/7 on-call service requests
- Travel to breakdown locations and prepare trucks for safe towing
- Perform roadside mechanical work, including driveshaft removal and basic diesel repairs
- Transport vehicles to the shop or customer location
- Assist with shop duties and diesel mechanic work during downtime
- Coordinate with dispatch and assist with payment processing
- Rotate between wrecker, mobile service truck, and shop tasks as needed
Schedule
- Shop hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
- On-call from home after hours
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- 5+ years of heavy-duty towing, recovery, or diesel experience
- Valid CDL with minimum 2 years of driving experience
- Clean driving record
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and respond promptly to calls
- Comfortable rotating between wrecker, mobile service, and shop duties
Preferred:
- Rec Master Certification (reimbursement available upon completion)
