Position Overview

A state-of-the-art, modern service facility specializing in both light- and heavy-duty diesel vehicles is currently seeking an experienced, dependable, and self-motivated Diesel Technician to join the team. This position is available for immediate hire for the right candidate in Lamar, CO.

Position Summary

The Diesel Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel engines and vehicles. This includes medium- and heavy-duty trucks, light-duty diesel vehicles, and diesel-powered equipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate advanced technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of diesel engines and vehicles, including medium- and heavy-duty trucks, light-duty diesels, and diesel-powered equipment.

  • Perform engine diagnostics, fuel system repairs, emissions servicing, and diesel particulate filter (DPF) cleaning or replacement.

  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, cooling system servicing, and drivetrain inspections.

  • Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality.

  • Accurately document inspections, diagnostics, and repairs in work orders.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance (required).

  • Advanced mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, emissions systems, and electronic controls (preferred 5+ years of experience).

  • Ability to diagnose and repair multiple makes and models of diesel vehicles.

  • Ownership of professional-grade tools.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • ASE Diesel Certification or equivalent manufacturer certifications (preferred).

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Team-oriented with a focus on excellent customer service.

  • Ability to reliably commute to or relocate to Lamar, CO 81052 (relocation assistance available).

Work Schedule

  • Full-time position.

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

  • No weekend shifts.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly pay rate of $40.00 – $50.00 per hour, based on experience and certifications.

  • Weekly payroll.

  • Performance-based bonuses.

  • Vacation pay:

    • 1 week after 90 days

    • 2 weeks after 3 years

    • 3 weeks after 5 years
