Location: Christiansburg & Radford, VA
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 8:00 AM–6:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM–5:30 PM (No Weekends)
Pay: $26–$38/hr (Flat Rate, based on experience)
Earning Potential: Up to ~$130,000 annually
Pay Schedule: Weekly

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring experienced Automotive Technicians (A Level Diagnostic Tech(s), B+ Level Tech(s) and C+ Level Tech(s)) for a high-performing, family-owned shop in Christiansburg and Radford, VA.

This is a busy, well-equipped shop with strong car count, modern tools, and a supportive team environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of domestic, Asian, and light European vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, drivability, and mechanical issues
  • Complete brake, suspension, steering, and drivetrain repairs
  • Perform routine maintenance and state inspections
  • Utilize advanced scan tools (Snap-On Verus/Zeus, Matco) and digital vehicle inspections (DVI)
  • Accurately document findings and recommended repairs in the shop management system
  • Collaborate with service advisors and team members to ensure efficient workflow
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an automotive technician
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills (especially for A Level candidates)
  • Virginia State Inspection License (required)
  • ASE certifications preferred
  • Proven ability to flag hours and work efficiently in a production environment
  • Experience with electrical diagnostics and repair
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass background check and drug screening
  • Team-oriented mindset with strong work ethic

Compensation & Benefits

  • Flat rate pay (DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE):
    • A-Level Tech: $32–$38/hr
    • B-Level Tech: $28–$32/hr
    • C-Level Tech (Radford location): ~$26/hr
  • Weekly pay
  • High earning potential (top tech earning ~$130K)
  • Consistent workload (150–160 vehicles/week)
