Automotive Technician A Level (Advanced Diagnostics)

Compensation: $45–$50 Flat Rate + Production Bonus Opportunity
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM (No Weekends)
Location: Collingswood, NJ 08108
Requirement: 8+ years of professional in-shop automotive experience required

We service a diverse mix of vehicles including domestic, Asian, European, and light diesel, and we’re looking for a highly skilled diagnostic technician (gasoline-focused — no heavy-duty diesel) to help us solve the problems other shops can’t.

The Opportunity

This position is ideal for a true diagnostic professional — someone who enjoys complex electrical and drivability challenges and can confidently pinpoint root causes without relying on “guess-and-replace” strategies.

You’ll work in a fully equipped 12-bay shop with 11 lifts, premium diagnostic equipment, and a steady pipeline of vehicles that will keep you engaged and challenged.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform advanced diagnostics for electrical, drivability, and intermittent issues

  • Use diagnostic tools with confidence, including a lab scope/oscilloscope, multimeter, and top-tier scan tools

  • Diagnose and resolve vehicle communication and network issues (CAN, LIN, module communication faults, etc.)

  • Provide accurate repair strategies and support the team in solving complex cases

  • Collaborate with service advisors to communicate findings clearly and professionally

  • Complete complex repairs with precision and accountability

  • Stay current with industry technology through training and continuous development

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of professional, in-shop automotive repair experience required (diagnostics-heavy background strongly preferred)

  • Proven ability to confidently diagnose electrical, drivability, and vehicle communication/network faults

  • Strong working knowledge and real-world experience using a lab scope

  • ASE Certifications are a plus (not required)

  • Professionalism, maturity, and a team-first attitude

  • A strong track record in complex diagnostics — this is not an entry-level role

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Plan: $45–$50 Flat Rate + progressive pay plan
Annual Earning Potential: $100,000+
