Location: Wilmington, NC
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | No Weekends
Pay Plan: Flat Rate – $40 to $50 per hour (based on experience)
Guarantee: 60-Day Production Guarantee (40 hours/week month one, 30 hours/week month two)
Expected Hours Flagged: 40+ per week
Earning Potential: $100,000 – $175,000+ annually depending on productivity

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring an experienced A Level / Diagnostics Wizard Automotive Technician for a well-established independent repair shop in Wilmington, NC. This is a Monday–Friday opportunity with no weekends, working in a clean, air-conditioned facility with a strong team culture and leadership that truly supports technicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting on drivability, electrical, and engine performance concerns

  • Diagnose and repair domestic, Asian, and European vehicles

  • Complete repairs including brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, electrical systems, and engine performance work

  • Use professional diagnostic tools such as Autel and Snap-On scan tools

  • Document findings and recommendations using digital vehicle inspections (DVI)

  • Collaborate with service advisors and parts staff to ensure efficient workflow and accurate repair orders

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment

  • Perform quality repairs that prioritize safety, reliability, and long-term vehicle performance

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as an automotive technician

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting ability

  • Experience working in an independent repair shop environment preferred

  • Ability to diagnose vehicles efficiently and turn consistent hours

  • ASE certifications preferred but not required

  • Self-starter with strong work ethic and attention to detail

  • Valid driver’s license required

  • Must be able to pass background check and drug screen

A-Level technicians typically specialize in diagnostics and complex repairs while mentoring and supporting other technicians when needed.
