Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm (vehicle work stops at 4:30)
Pay Rate: $35 – $45/hour (DOE)
Average Flagged Hours/Week: 40+

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring an experienced A / Master Level Automotive Technician for a trusted, community-focused shop in New Haven, MI. This is a full-time, high-skill position focused on electrical diagnostics, advanced repair work, and mentoring teammates. You’ll join a supportive crew in a well-equipped shop servicing everything from compact cars to diesel trucks — with access to cutting-edge tools and ongoing training. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on domestic, Asian, and light diesel vehicles

  • Use factory-level scan tools (Autel, Snap-On, Topdon) for scoping and flow chart testing

  • Complete BG flushes and high-level maintenance services

  • Assist and mentor lower-level technicians when needed

  • Conduct Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVIs) using Tekmetric

  • Communicate clearly with advisors regarding repairs and parts

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

  • Uphold a high standard of honesty and transparency in all repair recommendations

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as an automotive technician

  • Strong electrical and diagnostic expertise — must be an “electrical wizard” 

  • ASE certifications required (A1 – A8 REQUIRED) / ASE Master Cert. 

  • State of Michigan mechanic certification required

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Willingness to help others and contribute to a laid-back, productive team culture
