Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician

Location: Plymouth Meeting, PA
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay Rate: $28 – $38/hr (Hourly)
Experience Required: 5+ years

Position Summary

Promotive is hiring an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Technician for a top-rated diesel repair facility in Plymouth Meeting, PA. This is a full-time, in-shop role working on medium- and heavy-duty trucks (Class 6–8).

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, drivetrains, and exhaust systems

  • Perform DOT inspections and complete all required documentation

  • Service and repair brake systems, suspension, steering, and clutches

  • Rebuild transmissions, differentials, pumps, driveline components, and wet kits

  • Handle DPF/DOC cleaning and replacement, APU service, and hydraulic system repairs

  • Conduct preventative maintenance and routine services

  • Weld and fabricate as needed for trailers and chassis repairs

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience working on Class 6–8 diesel trucks (all makes/models)

  • PA State Inspection License (required)

  • S7 Heavy-Duty Diesel State Certification (required)

  • CDL Class A or B preferred

  • ASE certifications preferred or willingness to obtain (shop-paid)

  • Proficiency in diagnostics, electrical systems, and complex mechanical repairs

  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  • Must pass a background check and drug screening

Note: Felony convictions are not eligible. Misdemeanors reviewed case-by-case.

  • Hourly Pay: $28–$38/hr depending on experience and certifications
