When the sun starts to set, this automotive technical college is just getting revved up — and they’re looking for a pit boss to keep things running smooth. The Evening Shop Supervisor is the go-to leader when it comes to overseeing the evening shift in a busy automotive training shop. Think of it as managing a garage full of future technicians, passionate instructors, and equipment that needs a little TLC.
This role is for someone who’s part coach, part quality inspector, part fixer-of-things, and all about team spirit. Safety, mentorship, and organization are the name of the game — and the ideal candidate knows how to lead a crew with a firm but friendly grip.
What You’ll Be Doing:
-
Running the shop floor like a well-oiled machine
-
Supporting faculty, solving problems, and keeping the vibe productive
-
Enforcing safety standards like a shop-floor superhero
-
Keeping an eye on inventory (and making sure no one’s hoarding lug nuts)
-
Making sure tools and machines are in tip-top shape
-
Training and mentoring with patience and good humor
-
Directing students to the Dean when questions go beyond the toolbox
-
Reporting shop performance and issues directly to leadership
-
Assessing vehicle issues like a true diagnostic detective
-
Handling surprises with calm confidence
The Ideal Candidate:
-
Has a high school diploma (bonus points for a degree)
-
Has real-world shop or manufacturing floor experience — and knows what leadership looks like under a hood
-
Speaks “mechanic” and “manager” fluently
-
Loves solving problems and creating structure
-
Knows their way around shop safety regs like the back of their grease-streaked hand
-
Isn’t afraid of long hours or getting their hands a little dirty
-
Knows their way around a computer well enough to send a report or two
Perks & Benefits:
-
Competitive pay — bring your experience and get rewarded for it
-
Health, dental, and vision coverage options
-
Paid time off and holiday pay
-
A 3-day weekend every week (hello, Friday freedom!)
Ready to step up and lead the evening shift like a champ?
This is more than a job — it’s a chance to shape future auto pros, keep the gears turning, and be part of something awesome.
